Lifter Size
Anyone know the diameter and length of a small block lifter
Thanks For your help.
I needed to know as i,m making a stand to hold all the valves, push rods, lifters and springs in there correct order per cylinder and per head so they don't get mixed up. I'll post picture when it's made and full of parts. I took tone valve and spring and push rod out this morning but forgot the lifter at home so coulnt measure it

I'm going to be stripping a set of 360 heads and a set of 318 heads and putting the standard 360 valves in 318 ported heads for my standard engine and then i will built the 360 heads with 2inch and 1.6inch stainless valves to put on my rebuilt 318 which will be bored and flat decked, big cam ,ported and skimmed 360 heads. I'm swapping my current 318 heads for these new ones because the new ones are 83 heads and have hardened valves and my current ones arent.
0.904 is the 'standard' size given, same for BB&SB, and solid/hyd as the blocks don't change (though looks like the tolerances might be very slightly diff?).
This is a number mentioned often as it is an advantage over Che**ys with their smaller lifter dia (0.8xx?). The larger Mopar (and AMC) dia allows more radical cams....another Mopar advantage
Magnum lifters are longer BTW...doesn't look like that is an issue here

to do the 360 heads all i need is the valves and maybe the guides as the seats only need re-cutting to the new size.i have a friend who tunes engine and will do the porting for very little and getting the heads skimmed doesn't cost too much. I want to keep the engine looking as standard as possible. i don't plan on building the new engine in a rush to I'll do the heads first and then the short block. I still have to get the pistons , cam ,lifters and windage tray from the states so I'm in no rush. the 318 heads are a basic build and the seats will take the standard 360 valves without a problem and porting will be no problem.
