I never even thought of a tinted clear scoop.

I am quite relieved that you are not going mad after all Blue.

I have a model of that 55 Chevy with the perspex scoop somewhere in the loft. Originally yellow I painted it black with modifications to make a copy of the car in American Graffiti.

I've got it as well Dave it's called "Badman". One of my favorite kits ever. Jem helped me build a mock up of the scoop today in cardboard, I needed to see the proportions were right and that it actually looked the way I imagined it. Looks spot on, period correct. Lots of people are gonna hate it, but it's exactly what I want.

I like all your intake stuff sticking out of the hood, all those little rose joints moving around...I'd have that matt black gasser, even though it looks like the scoop's nailed on and the rear arches are having an identity crisis with a Transit van, but it looks like it should do the trick. ;)

I imagined it would be like the one on the chevy in Two lane Blacktop, only in smoked blue perspex.

Never imagined for a second you would just make one out of cardboard.

Well it'll be light Dave

Goin back to the tint perspex idea- 70s/ 80s race bike fairing screens are about the right shape & size.
No-one will believe you...

I know we don't see eye to eye on this one, but I think it would look better if it started further down towards the front of the hood and had a more gentle sweep to it.
