Does anybody now Whats the max backspacing you can use?
Wanted to replace me old centre lines but cant get them anymore, they were 10x15 with 4 1/2 inch backspace.
Can i use 4.875 backspace instead? Tyres are 295x50x15s
Want to keep the tyres away from the wheel arches as much as i can.
Brutus wrote:Al , a 4.8 backspace is gonna put the tyre pretty close to the springs , a 4" would be about right , will get away with a 3 3/4 backspace @ a push.
Not much difference between 4.5 witch i had and 4.8
would be good if it had been done for the front also .... don't think these measurements will work if you have pattren quarters , as the wheel arch flange ( lip )is about 1" give or take too wide ..unless you have trimed them to stock size .
Well shes back on the center lines again, with 5inch back spacing. Clears the springs easy and can drop the Ar's a little more now with the call tracks, witch am picking up next week along with a rebalanced and shortened prop from Hausers
