904 sliding yokes

Post by Wolfman »

My question is are the sliding yokes on a 904 box prone to wearing bad, just checked my u/j's back is ok ,the front is quite bad but the sliding spline seems to have a lot of play when you try to rotate it gently( there is a bit of movement up and down to).Are they readily available.I was going to fit the front u/j. now wondering if I should get my local prop place to do the whole thing and balance it up too This is probably one for duncan

even with a new ext bush you will get a little bit off up down side to side movement but should be really minimul, if you turn the yoke in the trans there should be no slop at all there is no play on the splines,, hope this helps, i do have some 904 slip joints s.hand, they arnt useually trouble,
pull it out and check it
