I drove to York and back this weekend to vist some family and we went in the Camaro. It never missed a beat and only used 104 Litres of petrol for the 500 miles, working out to 21 mpg It also used about 500 ml of oil which I think is respectable. We averaged about 50 mph on the way there due to traffic and roadworks and about 70 mph on the way back.
It seems to have faily low gears as well, 70 mph is at about 3000 rpm compared to about 2500 rpm in my Charger (383) with ghey gears and that did about 12 mpg.
My Falcon will do over 20 mpg easy on a run at 60mph not bad for a 3.50 rear axle.It help with it been a small Block and a 4 speed manual and a small car.
MY Fairlane with the 428 4 speed 3.50 rear axle is far worse! it seems to cost me £10 just to go to my local shops i have no idea what that will do on a run? 15mpg at the very best?

Charger did ~14 average with the 318 (although some claim higher).
'The Pit' must be down to about 3 or 4 by now.
is that gallons per mile or miles per gallon?
ticking away the moments that make up a dull day, you fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.
