For those that asked.... paint stage by stage.

Sanded this down this evening, buffed it, and reassembled it all bar the vents (not painted those yet). Pretty pleased with it, the colours look cool.

I guess the problem with doing any custom work is that you're trying to predict other peoples taste- the more complex and individual it is, the narrower the market for each item.
Stuff like this is great as a showpiece for showing off what's possible.
Maybe do simpler stuff with a broader appeal and just do the spectacular work to order?
I bet an ad in Streetfighters mag would be worthwhile, this is just their sorta thing, maybe try and get 'em to do a feature on your stuff?
