Tomtom help

Post by Wolfman »

I've just found a tomtom lying in the road, probably someone who left it on their roof and then forgot about it and drove off with it on there, it's a tomtom one V2 I think. I bought a cheap charger and it appears to switch on but there is no memory card in the bottom, does it need one of these to work at all or do I need software for it? I've never used one before so any help would be appreciated. Can anyone help?

The memory card (SD card) contains the maps, so yes you'll need one.

You can generally pick them up on Ebay cheap, but be careful it's not a duffer.

Not sure why anyone would take it out, to be honest. :?

Yes, but do you need software on you're computer to load the maps on the card in the first place

No mate. I meant you can get the fully loaded cards off E-bay. You just put them straight into the Tom-Tom. ;)

Here you go Mate. This is the kind of thing you are after. EBAY LINK

Not saying this particular one, as I have no idea of the seller or anything else, just an example for you so you know what to search for.

Or find someone with a Tom Tom and an SD card reader and see if it will copy. I've never tried it, so I don't know.

Hope this helps. :thumbright:

mine works without mem card. Reckon maps on internal memory.
Go to tomtom site and download software.
