Roger, that looks fantastic - really. One small criticism though, I think you might want to reconsider where you have put the axle, unless it is going to be a 4x4 of course.

No great change, but have rustproofed it now. Wax everywhere! Yuk!!

Spent the last few days compounding it.

Flat with 1500, then 3M trizact discs, fast cut compound, machine compound and then the new 3M anti holgram paste.

Tedious yes, but a finish like glass

Phots dont really show the change from before, but hey, here they are.

Excellent finish! Which grade trizact did you use? I've only used trizact for metal polishing. It never occured to me to use them for paintwork!

ahhh, thats a good question. I think they are 3000. Just needs one good pass of the polisher and its done!

Perhaps they label the discs differently then. I've only used the belts and they are graded A45, A16, A6 etc, which is confusing at first.

I thought it was about time for an update

As the garage is a bit small, ive had to move the shell into a position that i cant work on it and covered it up so that i have created a working area to restore all the bits that need to go back on.

With the shell safely out of the way, ive started on all the parts. As everything needs restoring in some way or other, i though id best make sure these things are the right colour! Any anoraks see something wrong in the pics, please do say.

Biggest nightmare so far are the Bendix disc brake set up. Next to impossible to find anything. Ive got some seals now, but the calipers need sleeving. And ive had to buy a servo and master cylinder from yankee land, as mine is a lidland ross drum set up thats been grafted in

Ive even set up a bolt restoration production line

Stuff frome the powder coater!
