Rebuilding someones dream ......Can you help ? . UPDATED .

Post by Anonymous »

If you have not seen this on the NSRA . Have a read of the thread and if you have any spare parts or could offer your services to rebuild donated parts or fit them etc. it could help get this car on the road.

I think the Blown motor was Mopar ( have a look at the main pic at the start of the thread and correct me if I'm wrong )

Lots of offers so far but if you can help out in any way that would be great.

After handing over lots of money over the years to a pro builder he has been left with very little to show for it, with lots of parts gone missing.

This pic is from 2006 if you see a blower / carbs / ally heads for sale that may belong to him.

How it was eventually found.

ticking away the moments that make up a dull day, you fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way.

Yes me too, don't have any parts and no skills to offer.

It may not end up as good as it should have been, but it would be nice to see him able to drive the coupe one day.

Ok found out it had a Chevy in it ,but he has been offered a Big Block Mopar engine Complete but in bits.

Any one got a box they don't need to give his dream MOPAR power ???

A different chassis is being modified to suit the parts donated

A MOPAR powered Willy's sounds perfect to me

It would be cool if the MMA members could help this project.

A complete Big Block MOPAR engine in bits has been offered for the new rebuild, so a box would be a help if you have a spare you don't need

As well as donating parts it's great to see some offering their time and skills to work on the project . Positive PR from companies who DO care rather than shaft the customer

Same thing almost happened to my Challenger.

Needed a new quarter panel on it after a crash. Took it to a local Rod builder who had a reputation for good metalworking skills.

He tried to rip me off by just patching the damage. I told him to stop that and fit a new quarter panel as I had asked.
A couple of days later I went to the workshop and it was locked up. Went there every day for two weeks. No sign of life and the security firm patroling the site said on the 'phone that the premises were completely empty.

It was only by complete chance that after 3 or 4 weeks I bumped into a (now ex) employee of his and found out where my car was.
The guy who had it (a small bodyshop owner) didn't have my contact details (he said) but had made no attempt at all to find me.
I hate to think what would have happened to the car if I had not found it by chance.

Only thing missing (after spotting my car cover elswhere in this bodyshop) was the factory workshop manual which I had only had a few months. So I was lucky.
