Kev, hadn't realised that shim steel was that thin, so that answers the sealing question. The confusion has arisen because the inlet manifold has got the same holes as the heads, so was confused as to why you'd block them off? Still don't fully understand to be honest, makes no sense to manufacture holes that need blocking up, but hey ho!
Pete, that's today's job... Got some serious cutting blades from work, so just off to go get the little Bananarama! out.
