Front end suspension reassembly

Post by Stu »

All going back together tonight, but again, wanted to check the correct way.

With the torsion bars out, what is the correct reinstallation method? I had a chat with Anton about this a couple of weeks ago, but my memory is worse than a Goldfish's!

When the first side went back together, the torsion bar went in from the front, then the LCA went on before reconnecting, but am now worried as to weather it will all be in the right place to allow enough torsion. Do they HAVE to go in from the rear? how do you know when the LCA is on the right angle on the front hex? Tried marking it all on the way out, but can't see em now.

Where to start, what's the right way, please? :read2:

My method. Loosly fit strut rod to LCA, loosly fit LCA and front strut rod bush to K frame, let it hang. Make sure torsion bar adjusting bolt is backed all the way out. Slide torsion bar in from the rear, it should come close to lining up with the hex in the LCA, it won't be far out one way or the other, you pretty much can't get it wrong.

That's the sort of Aunt Sally guide I was after. 8-)
