brake question

Post by Mick »

My Dana has got 11x2" brakes, i need to identify what they came off as I need a couple of parts to get the handbrake working for MOT.
They may be roadrunner i'm not sure.

They would probably be generic "B" body or maybe (but unlikey) "C" or "E" body. I had a truck (4" tubes) Dana and that had the same 11 x 3" Brakes.

I am surprised they are not 11 x 3" brakes.

I don't think I've been a lot of help here

I am just trying to find out how common this stuff is, i need struts, which i've made before and could make again, i need the handbrake arms that go on the shoes, the levers for the self adjusters and possibly the cables and half moon plates that go around the shoes from top to bottom.
I wouldn't mind but i went through all this on the Duster, now i've got to find it all again.

From memory, truck brakes have a wider shoe. I think you have B / E body brakes.

Never heard of 11x2 rear drums. They will be 11x 2.5.

I'm sure the shoes are 2".
The axle, i think is a truck one, as there's no provision for a pinion snubber, maybe the ends are B/E body.

I've got some parts from a 10" drum brake setup , was nicking parts off the 10" to feed the busted 11" , will see what i got Mick.

Think you'll find the 11" drum set up use the 2.5 shoe , just ordered a set , the 3" are off the big trucks.

Thanks Adam
I know they're not 3" because my Fury had 11x3 drums and they were a lot bigger
Did the new shoes come with the handbrake arm?.
Will you be at the power tour this weekend.

Heavy duty Mopar B and E body drums were 11x3 front and 11x2.5 rear.

Normal duty drums were 10x2.5 all round. Nothing only 2" wide.

If you got front disc brakes on anything you got the 10" rear drum.
