Got this from a good friend in Brum!

Post by Jeff »

Jeff,

This is not a joke and happened this week in Asda Minworth Birmingham
warn your relatives friends any anyone with young children.

An attempt was made to abduct a young girl in the Asda supermarket this week by an immigrant male

The mother turned away from her trolly to pick some shopping, when she turned back to her trolly the child had gone, terrified she started screaming, Asda security locked down the store, after a search staff found the child and the abducter in the toilets, he had a bag of boys clothing and was about to cut the childs blonde hair off useing a razor blade!

I am led to believe that this is not the first time this has happened and although nothing official has been reported by the media, the word is that a gang is suspected and this is not your usual disturbed person but something far more sinister.

Warn every one you can about this please.

I am relying on second hand info here, but this has come from teachers at my daughters infant school who know the parent and child personally.

I can understand any parent being worried about their kids due to the amount of media hype making everyone think this sort of thing is on the rise rather than actually becoming more rare.

But I always take these "on good authority from a very good friend of mine" stories with a HUGE pinch of salt.
These stories always start with a "friend of a friend". Usually they are rubbish. But because people have real fears about this sort of thing happening to their own child these stories take hold like wild fire.

I think if there was really a gang kidnapping children the media would get hold of it pretty sharpish. They love this sort of thing as it sells papers so well.

I just don't know why you guys were falling for this. It's a complete mystery to me. :?

Next thing you will all bang on about is that we need to invade a middle eastern country because the Americans said so.

Remember when the Yorkshire Ripper was on the loose?

There were loads of "my very good friends sister swears she saw" stories. Usually about hairy armed women outside Newcastle Central Station (the newspapers had a theory that the Ripper was going out disguised as a woman).

They are always qualified by "it must be true because".

I had to laugh at the yanks on a US message board last year when they had the one about the old soldier on guard duty at the gate that had a heart attack and begged a passer by to take the flag from his arms because he didn't want the flag to touch the ground.

The were lapping that poop up they were. I think that one has been around since the Civil war.

Another one I always get tired of is the "virus alert" emails. The ones that ask you to email everyone in your contacts list about an email that if you click on it your hard drive will be completely wiped. Can you imagine the internet traffic if everyone emailed everyone in the same day at the same time?
Never ceases to amaze me that people fall for that.
