Do you know what? I am just soooo fliipin excited about that car I cannot tell you. I am sitting here studying (brief 5 minute recess at the mo) grinning thinking about driving it.
I have had a lot of yankee motors over the past 18 years and I have ALWAYS wanted to do this with a car. I got my chance in the end and it will actually be with a car I want to keep.
Well happy
Best decision I ever made as far as that car is concerned, handing it to John.

Me and Connor went and had a look at Clives car today and John gave us a guided tour. We were like kids in a sweet shop John and his team are doing some fantastic work down there and if any of you can get there on a Saturday it is well worth the trip. Clives 70 and the yellow 68 look really fantastic no wonder Clive has such a big grin. John thanks for the hospitality and here are a few pics.

]]]Not this time round mate. If I see a pristine interior I'll drive it like a pristine car - a tart in other words. I didn't want the column or dash facia touched. Old woodgrain, old dial faces etc. etc. (even though I had replacements to go on).Cannonball wrote:nice, hope that steer column is gettin a coat off paint,
John put the decals on for me today. I skillfully peeled the backing off and he fitted em - what a team.
The car looks gorgeous as ever and I can't wait to take her for a spin. Its in good hands.
Pukka job

Fingers are crossed Justin.
Everything the car needs (except the windscreen - which hadnt been delivered when I rang at 11:45) is there. The downpipes are on, carpet in, some seats are in, everything under the hood is done. I 'think' it is ready for firing up.
Its going to be very tight, but it MIGHT be at Brooklands. I have to try and get some more money together to get the tab paid and I have asked John to put some miles on her so he can spanner her up, ready for me to rag it. I am really looking forward to this, I need something to put a smile on my face right now.
JC not there tomorrow, he's been away on the Harley for a while on hols. Next saturday will be the one.
