Slicks.

Been told to run the slicks @ lower pressures many times , if i have em any less than 16psi the motor gets out of shape , i don't mind correcting a bit of a shimmy but it gets pretty uncomfortable mid track , could be down to me bein a bit of a pussy :D i don't know , anyhows , noticed the edge of the slicks are gettin shredded up & was wondering what was causing it , think it may be down to the pressure being to high & feathering the outer edge of the slicks (3" in on one side) , put an extra pound in the tires before the last time out & the 60 fts went from 1.5 to 1.7 , bought the gas in & made it worse  , was spining up around 70ft out , maybe this is the problem , will go for lower pressures next time out , don't think i can run @ 10 psi , heavy ole motor. :help:

How do you know when the slicks are shagged? , wait for the cords to show? :help: , already below the wear indicators.

MPH don't add up to the ET , 10.7 @ 132mph. :? , sure this things got plenty more to give.

I think they are shagged once they hit the wear indicators! Don't wait for the cord to show Adam! Think it is a bit of a false econony to run em right down!

If the wear indicators are gone, so is the use of the slick...new ones neede urgently

I run mine at 12 PSI no probs it gets a bit squirmy off the line....but especially when you come off it at the top end

Also check the pressures just before you go round to run
and get them hot n smokin :thumbright:

I have to steer mine up the track at 10psi and my car must be as heavy as your Adam. But at 8psi it gets a little too wobbly for my liking for no extra grip that I could tell.
I was thinking of trying 12psi just to see if it went any slower in the 60ft but never got a chance yet.

brutus, no bullin you need them tyres at 12 psi max it should be perfect at 10 hot
the car will wander about and feel like its all moving under yer arse thats normal real bad sometimes when you get off the power at the top end,
just think your mtr will make lots off torque tryin to blow the tyres mid track and 3/4s up with the tires that hard,
you just gotta balls it out, unless obv you have a problem like pete had then you had better check it out

i might be wrong, but i reckon thats normal and just keep yer foot in it,
i would think with that caltrac system your cars would feel more stable than my chally on old superstock springs
