Going to my first Mopar show at Brooklands has given me the kick up the rear I needed to start on the Charger !
My biggest problem ( i'm sure like many others ) is lack of space to work on the car. Car not running, 1:3 driveway etc , pushing 3800lb car no fun !!
I know from reading previous threads that using a DA sander is the way to go but I'm worried about the mess they cause - neighbours from hell and all that.
I'm quite prepared to have a go with a bucket of Nitromors and a razor blade scraper to get the bulk of the paint off but obviously need to sand the etch coat off.
Any ideas chaps ? I can get access to a DA we have at work but what grade of discs do I use ?

Paint Removal

Nitromores is great.

Just be veeeery careful where it can get trapped in panel joints etc and come back and ruin your paint job later....
I used P120 discs to buzz off the remnants after stripping. use a light pressure so as not to score the metal. John Kosmoski of House of Kolor recommends P80 or even P40 discs for bare metalling but they scare me! I've used P80 before but only usually on areas with surface rust.
If you go back to bare metal you want to have a bit of skuff on the surface to help the primer adhere, even if you use an etch primer. I used a U-Pol aerosol etch primer on this one 'cos I'm going a panel at a time. Its about a tenner a tin from your local body shop supplier or some larger branches of Halfords.
I used a normal rotary sander for removal, set at a nice slow speed to prevent burning.
Shame I don't have an "after" photo for you yet....
