A904 Tailshaft seal

Post by latil »

No reply to my wanted,so what I'm after is the seal for the rear of the tailshaft housing where the prop comes out. I need to change my housing before the nats as the rear bush is badly worn and I can lift the prop spline end up and down around 3/8 " I have a spare housing with a good bush, just need the seal.

I have one Lat I was going to fit it in the truck 904.
Then I bought jems old 904 out of his truck whch was agood one with new seals.
Unfortunatley My truck has a stubby output shaft and jems is the longer type so I cannot swap it.
I have now arranged to take the box to Blue.
So you have two choises.
You can have the jemsters box for what I paid for it £50 or you can have the rear seal for a £10.
I hope this helps.

Hey Steve, if Bob's deal doesn't suit you, it's a bit obvious but you could always give Dunc or Blue a shout, they may have one on the shelf...

Thanks for the seal Bob. Just finished the job,not quite as straightforward as I'd hoped  Took the trans crossmember out to lower trans, went to put it back and the car had got wider by 1/8 inch,so the bolts wouldn't go in. Solved with a 4 foot sash cramp. :D
