When mine went I had 65 thou endplay Adam. It was in the crank at that point. At 40 thou I think your crank will be OK. :thumbright:

All up & running , valve train not so noisey since tightening valve clearances .005" from cam card , seems to be a bit harsher when put into gear with the new vertor , will take it out if the weather hold off tommorow , wanna see how this convertor performs.

Runs like a raped ape Dave :D , had to mess with the carb as it did'nt like the tighter valve clearances , could'nt clean the idle issue up tweekin the mixture screws , would hang around 1300 rpm for a while then drop back down to the idle setting of 1000 rpm , @ one point i had the mixture screws hangin out  :D & it still wanted to pull fuel from the trans slots when idleing down , did'nt have any idle air bleed blanks for the dommie so soldered the ones up in there & drilled em .020" smaller , idles well now. :thumbright:

Cut the filter up & all looks good so far , will check crank endfloat on a regular basis as it's got me paranoid , oil pressure is around 5 psi higher than it was previously , thought i might loose a bit due to the bearing mod , also increased oil to the spray bars but all seems to be fine.

Will see how it performs @ the Nats , will renew me breakdown cover. :D

Bloody hell, Ad. Up and running again! =D>

Fair play Mate. On my list of must see's at the Nats. 8-)

I think you deserve committing for all the commitment to the cause. ;)

Or a medal. One of the two. :D
