Just got back from Tech Del Ltd who make the Minilite wheels near Telford.

Great bunch of lads. :thumbright:

Machined the wheel hubs out on all 4 wheels and fitted a larger center cap to suit. Fit my car perfect now. :thumbright:

In fact i just went around to the ATS tyre place around the corner from me to get the tyres fitted but they were solid with work and there was no place to park. I will look in at 4pm to see if they are less busy.

These guys at Tech Del used to make the alloy wheels (all types) for many of the manufacturers. They had a big team working all hours at one time.
But of course like everything most wheels are now made in China. So classic wheels like these are now their biggest seller. But they have a much reduced workforce.

Funny enough. While I was there who should turn up but the guy that distributes these wheels in the USA and Canada. He had just popped over from the US for a visit with a German bloke. Top man who really knows his muscle cars (although he drives a Jensen Interceptor :P ).

So I says to him. "The guys in the US with these wheels are all telling me they need to get the hubs machined out". "At least that is true with these '73 on discs. I'm not sure about the earlier ones".

Total surprise to him. No one has ever mentioned it.
So when he gets back he is going to check the hub size on all the popular 70s Muscle cars.
He has just been asked to supply the wheels for a replica of one of the AMX Javelin Trans Am cars. So he is going to check out the hubs for that to make sure they are right. :thumbright:

Here we are at last! :D

The car is on axle stands at the moment so the wheels are just hanging there. but you get the gist of how it will look.

And it's not often you can say that about anything :thumbright: :D
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…
