AXLE WOES

Post by Minty »

 Well would you believe it,The only thing i have,nt rebuilt or replaced has started giving me problems,i am getting a strange droaning sound on coasting, there is also a horrible mettalic smell comeing from the rear wheels, also the rear wheels get very hot,ive checked fluid which is fine, rear brakes are not dragging,if the hub bearings are shot is it worth getting the whole unit rebuilt, the Nats are looming and this is not good,i need some inspiration as the old head is dropping, any ideas :(

I know of an axle from a CH 4 door for sale.

Call American Auto Barn, ask for Bob and say I told you about it. It belongs to a friend of his I think the car might have been jumped before it was scrapped (or maybe that was another one :-k ) but it's worth a shot.
