Cobblers. :thumbright:

It is all in how they adjust. When you know how.

To get the back edge of the hood down you actually have to raise the front of the hinge bracket up to rotate it towards the rear. The secret is all in the rotation. One of my hinges must have moved and had rotated in relation to the other.

So both hinges need to rotate back (raised on the front bolt) and then the hood slid forward on its mounting bolts to suit.

If both rear hinges are not rotated the same amount the hood moves sideways at the front edge.

I have got it sussed now. Just need the time and patience to get it right.

MOT is booked for tomorrow 2pm. :thumbright:

Hope it goes okay.

The trick, although it is self evident with panel alignment, is to start at the back (with the fixed panels) and work forwards with the bonnet being the last thing.

Sadly, the guy who did my Falcon failed to adhere to this methodology.

Hope it isn't the springs 'un-setting' Dave or you'll be doing it all again in a few days :(

It's got bugger all to do with the springs. :thumbright:

Have you see the springs on a Challenger R/T hood? You couldn't unsettle them if you tried.

Rotating the hinges up at the front and back allows them to bring the hood down at the back. Then you adjust the bolts on the sides of the hood to straighten and bring forward the hood. :thumbright:
