Stating the obvious but are you sure its a 727 convertor and not an A904?
They look the same but it won't fit.

If you have the right convertor than in the words of Ronnie Barker you just have to jjjjjjiiggggle it a bit...........

Have you put fluid in the convertor ?

I always found it almost impossible to get convertors to fully seat if they were 'dry' (ie. new).

Putting some fluid in them seemed to make seating them (horizontally) much easier.

Just keep pulling it back slightly, give it a slight turn and push forward. repeat about a dozen times and just before you finally give up it will suddenly go in all the way. :thumbright:

Had this problem before , front pump had to come appart due to not lineing up with vertor.

Not sayin it's your're problem but it happened to me , if the box is on end the vertor will drop in with it's own weight when you spin it , are the splines all good?

:help:

Also had this, though on a 904 after I fitted a new front seal.Thoroughly lubed the new seal with tqf first but still wouldn't go. The up down turn a bit method worked for me but it was more than a dozen times!
