This is how the car stands today. Still got all the interior, all the wiring, door window mechanisms and locks, glass etc. I'm trying my best to get the car ready for nats but as there's only a few weeks to go it doesn't look like it will be ready in time.

Thanks everyone for you nice comments. It’s taken about 14 months so far to do the car and it will probably take me another 14 months to learn how to use this damn computer properly, but for now I'll get my misses to help.

Originally from Missouri it is a surprisingly solid car considering the climate is similar to our own, or so I'm told. Once all the paint was taken off this is what I found -

front valance had been grounded - many hours with hammer and dolly
drivers fender - no rot, few dents
passengers fender - originally off a red car - needed welding on the front corner
roof - perfect
drivers and passengers doors - no rot, few dents
drivers quarter and wheel well - rotten
passengers quarter - rotten, wheel well - ok, only a small repair needed
rear valance - rotten on one side, due to previous bad repair job
trunk lid - perfect
trunk floor – needed repairing and new extensions fitted
hood - 3/4 inch of filler due to previous bad repair near the front lip, had to remove double skinned area to repair and weld it back in later
floor pans – needed repairing to front and rear sections both sides
rear deck panel – needed replacing
chassis rails, inner sills, outer sills - unbelievably like new
all welding done on the car has been butt welded for neatness and to avoid any rust traps

Originally I was thinking of painting it black, but Tony O persuaded me to keep the original colour combo of LL1 and white interior. Thanks Tony, you were right, I was wrong.

Will post more pictures soon if anyone is interested.

Here are the latest pictures of "The Boss", as my son and his mates have christened it on Facebook. Still got to colour sand and buff the paint, oh and the exhaust went this week, so I've arranged to get it replaced on Wednesday with a stainless system. I have decided not to refit the wheel arch moldings just yet. Also have a white bumble bee strip which I am going to leave off for a while as I like it as it is.
