[quote="latil"]Is there any possibility of combined slight wear in steering components setting up a pendulum effect? Is this why a lot of the faster cars go over to rack/pinion set up to avoid so many moving parts?[/quote

Would love to ditch the torsion bars and box as it a bad set up, but ain't got £4000 plus for a magnun force set that i would favour

I have thought that i have a bit of play in the box but thought all the power on the rear it wouldnt have that much of an effect

There's a good few fast B bods out there with stock front ends , no excuses on that front. :D

No excuses full stop , takes time & exprience to set the cars up to run decent #s , a little way to go yet.

Took it out today & the 4:10s certainly woke it up , lost 5 gallons of fuel down the M25 as i forgot to turn the valve off that feeds from cell to carb  , also caught fire in the pub car park when i dropped some ATF over the headers  , pint of Guinness over the headers sorted it out , smelt great all the same. :D

Hey Ray , A bods are too easy , need a good ole motor to power a fully loaded B bod down track. :D

Is that right mate? why not fit a diesel, then you can have plenty of track time per run & economy ;)

Hey Brutus,
Are your wheels round ? Found out one of my rims was bent, hence me bouncing all over the track @ the Nats

Did you just go out on the street with it Adam or did you get some timed runs on the strip. Have you any new time slips?

No updated time slips , just meant it feels more comfortable with the 4:10s as opposed to the 3:55s.

Also its worth sitting the car at LAUNCH height ( give or take ) on the front end and then setting the camber caster etc....that really made mine feel so much better all the way down the strip....might be a little different with yer 90/10's now

Got the stiff wall slicks , stiff sidewall is an understatement  , managed to get from 3 1/2" to 5" of front end travel , also reconfigured caltrac settings , fitted the 90/10s :help: , tossed the nitrous controller in the bin & carried out some modifications to the nitrous system , did some surgery on the dommie , loads more but i can't remember , will see how it all pans out.

It's interesting to see what actually happens when the nitrous solinoid is pulsed via the controller.......... NOT MUCH  , seems when the Bananarama! a dead stop it very quickly turns to vapour/gas , the controller pulses the noid pretty rapidly (on/off) , had the carb off so was watching the nitrous flowing through the plate , with the solinoid open continuous the flow is as would be expected , when the solinoid is pulsed the nitrous flow drops off around 80% due to the nitrous for some reason turning to a gaseous state , as said all i can put it down to is the continuous dead heading due to the solinoid pulsing rapidly , maybe the nitrous gets 'bounced' back & forth so quickly causing it heat up.

No more pulsing noids for me.

Looked like Mr frosty after 10lb of nitrous flying around the garage. :D

I take my hat off to you Ad, I didn't understand a word of that but it sounded very good. Wish I was able to work all that stuff into an engine.

I read something somewhere about NO2 being due to be banned in the future because of the effect it has on the ozone layer (I'm not joking). Its an American thing.

Anyone else read that?
