Good idea on the pliers Jim, I had heard of others doing this and that was my plan......

As you say Gavin, give it a practice on some spare tube and hose, but don't forget to post the results!
Looks like a real neat solution.....and you're right - I found an original application on my Dodge on the four fuel tank vent lines and the fuel vapour return line from the tank to the line tube, when I was replacing the fuel line on mine.
