Mark you are right.

I would have loved to have bought a complete running car but I have a huge loan that I'm still paying off from when I bought my BMW so I could not afford another to pay for it. This one came up on ebay as some of you will know as it was posted here and it as within my price range and as Mark said with the thought of doing it up over time and spreading the costs out, (as still paying off loan). I will completley admit I did not know or realise the car was twisted and even in it's stripped state I did not know/see the full extent of the damage to the panels. If I had known or noticed all that then yes I probably too would have walked away or dropped the asking price down a huge amount but I can't do anything about that now.
Then the stubornness kicked in and the more people that said give up and scrap it the more I was determined to keep it. After all I'm probably the only female in the UK to actually own a Charger.
I have since had to sell the BMW to put cash into the car but am still paying the loan for it and would love for JC to finnish the car but I cannot afford it so it's agreed that he'll be doing the body work so I have a good solid base to play with then it'll be coming home and gradually over the winter I can put it together with some help from friends at a rate that I can afford.
As I've maintained throughout this car won't ever be a show winning car and the aim is to just get it through an MoT for now and any other stuff can be done later. I want a car I can use and drive about every day I possibly can as at the moment I'm without a car and have to rely on the other half. This is also why I'm happy to stay with a 383 engine and not go 440.
I could not have done any of this and made a dream come true if it wasn't for Andy my other half and that gang at JC's

Whatever happens Tanya, you know you will have an arrow straight, rust free body that will provide the perfect base for a show winner in the future, should you wish to go down that route.

I have to say, it is very exciting to see it coming together. Yes, she was in bad shape, but she aint no more. Give yerself a massive pat on the back for saving a 69 Charger that many many others would probably have stripped and weighed in. You have given the car a real chance of a new lease of life. Well done

Went to see the car today. A few more odds and ends done but they are the time consuming little bits that are important. The trunk floor is in place now. So coming along nicely. The only bad thing we've now found it that I need a new K member as the one that came out of the twisted frame won't bolt back into the straight one so does anyone have one out there?

OK is it the one with the 2 holes in the front left corner. Have to ask as John told me there are 2 types and mine has the holes at the front not the back. Also would you be going to the HRD and shakey?

hi taz yes am going shakey, the frame came off a 68-9 383 rrunner never come accross this 2 hole thing let me know exactly what the crack is and i will check for you, dunc

Just had an email from America witht the shipping costs so will get that paid tomorrow and hopefully the bits will be here in a week once funds have cleared. This should be the final large items to come. Yippee

Thanks for the K member Dunc, sorry i couldn't collect in person. At the moment I'm working 12-13 hours a day 7 days a week but as soon as I can I'll get it over to Johns for fitting.
The last panels should hopefully be getting to this country at some point early this week, (fingers crossed) and I hope to get a few hours so I can go over to help un pack it.

Well, the last, (I hope), shipment of body panels finally arrived at John's workshop today. As I said, I'm running a livery yard all by myself at the moment, so working over 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. I've been busting a gut all day today, trying to create enough spare time to nip over to the workshop & see my parts arrive, but everything conspired against me & I just couldn't get there.
This has to be the last parts we order for the forseeable future as we just can't afford any more. The rest of the car's going to have to be built on a shoestring budget to compensate. Really disappointed we couldn't be there today to see the big boxes arrive & help unpack all that lovely new steel.

My heart sank when John told me something must've been dropped on the roof panel in transit, but he reckons it's just a couple of minor dings, (God, I hope so!).
The guys at Jacks Autos in New Jersey are equally anxious to know the parts arrived safely, (they've been fantastic & we thoroughly recommend them for shipping Mopar parts from the States), so my partner Andy & I hope to get to John's on Monday afternoon.
A whole weekend of waiting

If anyone's dropping in there tomorrow, please take a couple of photos for us & post them here!
