I'm using it , whether good or bad i don't know , seems to stop OK.

Bled all the old fluid out first before using the silicone based one.

I've not used it,but understand it has a higher boiling point and doesn't deteriorate and won't absorb water. If I had just renewed my whole system then that's what I would be using.

Plenty of opinions out there, also got discussed on here before check the archives.

Bottom line - main advantage is does not attack paintwork.
Main disadvantage bloody expensive!

Does have higher boiling point than DOT3/4 but mineral DOT 5.1 is as high as silicone and much much cheaper.
True it does not absorb water but that also means any water in the system can end up pooled and rust locally.
Also it traps fine air bubbles more easily so you need to do a really good bleeding job - it's not recommended for ABS (not a problem here!)

On balance I went for 5.1 (hi temp mineral). YMMV!

No good reason to use it in my opinion, you won't notice the difference but your wallet will. Also, should you need some more in an emergency, you might not be able to get your hands on some at short notice.
