Yeah, sorry about not making it. I'll be at the Silverlink at the end of the month.

That road I'm on there is the B6278 from the A68 over the top through Edmundbyers to Stanhope, great road.

Great pic's there Rich! :thumbright: Seems like the further North you go the roads get longer, straighter and wider, whereas the further west you go the roads get narrower, twistier and shorter :?

The car looks awesome, that paint and colour are fantastic =P~

There are some great roads with nowt on them in parts or Northumberland and in the Scottish Borders.

I was coming back from the Borders a couple of years ago in the Neon and took a wrong turning.
I ended up on this narrow road across a moorland that was pretty straight for a few miles and only slightly undulating with a few gentle bends. Diana was asleep so I had no nagging to stop me doing "top speed" on that road. With it being so narrow with only the occasional little stone bridge to go over it was the most thrilling "top speed" I have ever done.

just stop before you hit the Scottish border Clive :D

great pics Rich, looked like a good day. Should get myself out that way.

that road is actually in County Durham, just west of Durham, an area we have recently been considering moving to.

I love Northumberland, couple of years since I was last up there. It's like being in another country compared to down south. Ain't so much fun when it's raining but when the suns out 8-)

The beaches are like that just about all the way from Scotland down to Durham. From Newcastle city center you are never more than 20 mins drive from either the beach or fabulous countryside and roads. We have been trying to keep this secret for many years but it looks like the secret is getting out.

A68 smashing drive
Military road along past Housteads and vindolanda over to Greenhead
smashing drive. (quite literally if you do the severe dips!! too fast.

696 up to Jedburgh smashing if camera addled drive

over the pennines at Alston past the "Jesus Saves" with the Woolwich rock (commedy eh..... on the top of a big hill...can't beat it)

sand dunes and sandy beaches for miles

its great

that BBC programme coast started at darlington went clockwise and ended at Eyemouth.

1 mention of holy island for Northumberland and that was it

idiots

no craster kippers
no castles
no lerbsters and criabs on seahouses pier (roll the Rs like a proper northumbrian )

but good for the locals.

kinda thing that makes my mum write to "points of view"

take ya cotswolds and chilterns and stick em up ya ass

thats what i say

PS wear walking boots and a big jumper and bring kendal mint cake if you venture further north then Leeds

your survival is your concern.....T-shirts/ football strip and trainers are only good for protecting locals against the biting wind they will not work for you.
