Is the helmet on the hayabusa seat just for show ? ;)

First bike was a Gilerra 50 . Had it in 82/84 (m-reg 1974) . Still have it tucked away. Needs a resto now though. Loved it when i was 17/18. Picture is from the net. Same bike though.

Bumping this back to the top, 'cause I've gone all nostalgic.

Not a single pic of any of my bikes ( :( in fact, hardly any pics of ANY of that period of my life, all disappeared with Ex's. ) but has anyone got a decent pic of a GS550L custom? Surprisingly little about on t'interweb!

I think, THINK, it's the '85 I'm looking for, but the '79 looks to be a contender as well. :thumbright:

:D Do you not remember the custom painted one with the airbrushed tank that my mate from up the pub had when I was about 17? Dunno where it's come from, but I'm on a nostalgia trip with it now. He used to let me scoot off on it once in a while for a blat and I loved it, cause I felt all big and cool on it. (17, with an RXS100, remember... )

He offered to sell it to me once when he was thinking of getting rid of it, but I was potless and always regretted not being able to buy it. :(

Not sure what year it was, or if it was completely standard or not, but to me it was great. Think that's one of the reasons I bought that old XJ650 with the step up seat a couple of years later. It kind of reminded me of it in a nothing like it kind of a way. :D

Heres my other problem in life besides Mopars. (The proper bike, not the Hardley)

Kind of wish the running gear was in a featherbed frame though!!

Love the Slingshot. Great looking bikes. The slab sided GSX-R's were lovely too. Come to think of it, the current ones a re gorgeous.
