im just looking at sorting the rear anti rioll bar on the dart, do any of you race guys run one?? if so what diameter is it (and length), im not to sure how to work out the best size bar to use .
any help much apreciated.
The Addco ones are 7/8 or 3/4, but it also depends on the leverage of course and I don't know how long the links are on those. I had an Addco one on my old Dart and it made a worthwhile difference, but I don't know which is was
yes im looking to make it all myself, i was thinking that i can play with diameters and length of levers, all i need is somewhare to start from, it will only be 24" long so i think i will start with 3/4" and see how it goes.
Mine's quite trick Trev and only about 2 feet long. It's a bushed splined shaft in a tube mounted on brackets. Ally arms with short adjustable drop links. It's at my mates now so i'll try to measure tomorrow.
Did you think of maybe using an old torsion bar. With the nut shapes on both ends it will make positive location of the arm easy.
I to am trying to make my own rear anti roll bar to use on the street so if you have any ideas I'd be pleased if you could share them.
cheers guys,
Pete, pics of yours would be good.
Anton, i thought of using a torsion bar but feel it will probably be too strong (and i want it to look nice)
looks like 3/4 to 7/8 is the way to go, i need it 23" wide and want the brackets outboard of the arms so that will also cause me a few headaches, i think i need todo some tests on various diameters and materials to determine what is most suitable.
