Morning Clivey.:thumbright:

What I said was kinda tongue in cheek and I was just stirring anyway. But I wonder how the people who felt the need to PM the Mods and have a moan about some of my posts and obviously had issues with me would have taken it if it was my name up there instead of RR's?

Anyway, I still find it funny and it made me laugh. I can take it for what it is! :thumbright: :D
I'm here because Im not all there!!

Mornin Andy :D

Lots of PM's get received from time to time when offense is taken. Don't sweat it - we can all upset someone (I know I can  )

Suprised RR hasn't noticed yet.

My view - NOT the Committee's.
Well,it would be pretty boring if all that was talked about was paint codes and trim options :D
This forum is more about keeping in contact with each, likely having some of the banter that would occur when we meet face to face.None of us live cars 24/7 and that should show on here.

..so lets all talk about whats on TV tonight. Thats a good idea. I am sure the TV times has an MB. Maybe we can stick up pictures of our pets

Personally, I don't agree. At the present time, we need more car stuff on here - race or original. Where has all the car stuff gone?

Ironically, I have got a lot on outside this board so it hasn't become the centre of my universe. Thank God

I think quite a few are feeling the pinch one way or another and are just not doing much with their cars. That's if they haven't already had to sell them.

Currently I am posting very little for various reasons. One being I am getting sick of this board.

I want to see progress reports on cars other than my own.

I want to see photos of new cars to the club instead of them being kept "secret".

I am sick of the same technical questions being asked over and over again because members can't be arsed to search the message board to see if their question has been asked before (which 99% of the time has).

I want to see stuff on restoration and what is "correct" for these cars. This has to be the only classic car club in the world where any interest in originallity is flamed.

It just seems to me that this club (or at least this message board) is about who can pee the highest.

The search on this board is next to useless,I've lost count of the wasted hours searching for things that I know are there.
My progress report will come when I make some progress, that's if owning a C body isn't derided yet again.

That's a pretty sweeping statement Dave. Care to expand on it ?

The search on this site is quite bad, I have found that.

The board has got a bit too serious at times. And at times, down right personal!

I used to be on here all the time, kept it open on my work computer all day.

I guess at the end of the day, we all want different things out of this board. I spend most of my time on another board now, not so serious and very friendly all the time, don't get me wrong, I have made some great friends on this board, and I hope they will be friends always. But that is the only reason that I will stay a member now. Just to keep in touch with my friends.

I will not post much, as I have been accused of posting drivel a few times.
Pretty much given up on the Canadian move thread as there was no interest.. Strange really, as I am surrounded by bloody Mopars!

Why do I need to expand on that?

Ask yourself why the people in this club that are experts on correct restoration never post any more? They used to years ago. The term "rivet counter" is often used on here in a derogatory fashion.
Is that not obvious to you?

Dave, there are numerous threads on the board following restorations that receive a great deal in the way of praise and encouragement. Take a look at the number of views that some of the Charger resto threads have attracted in the members cars and workshop sections. Club members regularly meet up at John Castlemans shop to see restorations in progress. I don't recall people "flaming" these owners or admirers.
As for those experts on restoration who don't post anymore, well people have tended to come and go from the board over the years. I very much doubt that it's because they have been offended by being refered to as "rivet counters".
The long and the short of it is that this club is supposed to be primarily about Mopar muscle cars, whether they be race cars or resto's and the vast bulk of what is posted is, as Clivey infered, off topic. That is why racers and resto experts alike will get bored and drift away.

I don't post on here now much at all, don't have the time for one

been a member for maybe 8 years or so

On the old board I asked for a space to do and post "whatever" after I think a damn good argument .
1st Q is who the hell thought of the name "The Watershed"
2nd Q is how come good arguments are just deleted, move them to the shed just rename the place FFS

I will agree with Dave, why is the same Bananarama! asked time and time again, surely a mod with a little bit of tech knowledge could check with other mods and sticky a good reply, then if another member could say for sure with a 100% certainty backed up by fact its Bananarama! then its unstickied.

As far as rivet counters....... this hobby/obsession takes and needs all sorts, there's the so called rivet counters that go the last mile to show everyone here and the world that the MMA can and does turn out some perfect cars.
Then there's the racers that show all Mopar is the fastest
Then there's the likes of me that own the best Bananarama! pick-up due to necessity known to man.
Doesn't matter what the vehicle, charger, B Body, A body, C body, or a ram truck, we're all paid up members end of

One thing that does Bananarama! me of is the endless smut and innuendo, I can buy a mag for that if I want to, decent interesting threads just Bananarama! up all the time every time, and you know what they say.... if ya gotta talk about it ........

All of the above is my personal thoughts seeing as USA Imports is long gone

Gareth,

there is a lot of truth in what Dave says, and some in your own words.

This club is a car club and the forum is supposed to focus on mopars/american cars/muscle cars. Race or original. Very little of what gets posted relates to any of those three.

You may notice not much gets posted from JC's anymore? too many people went on the attack saying 'some' were stuck up the backside of the place.

As far as I am concerned, if you want to see the top notch cars he is turning out, slagging off people who post pics of his work will turn off the tap.
