Manual valve body problems!

Post by Anonymous »

Oh dear, it seems I have did everything the destructions told me, remove/replace and fit the ratchet shifter and cable.
Only to find when its in park it rolls freely, I have tried it in every gear and its the same?
I made sure it was in the right position etc when I fitted the cable, Maybe I need to lift the rear on stands and try it again?
I am mechanically minded, (as in I am not daft!) just have never done anything like this before so need a bit of help, thanks chaps!
I am sure it was ok though?

get it up in the air, disconnect the cable, click the box through with yer hand to park, check the prop won't turn. If it still turns the shift bar from the manual valve body ain't engaged properly. you know the one you had to "snap" into possition whe fitting the body. The cable needs very precise adjusting to work properly.
