After seeing Pete Wiseman going over on his roof decided my cage needed upgrading and I needed a bit of head protection.

3 mm x 1 1/2" ERW notched and mig welded.

I think peace of mind trumps the extra weight Jon...you'll just have to go on a diet or "do a Kev" (race without your pants!)
The pump don’t work coz the vandals took the handles.

I have now removed and sold my 340 c.i. to a Belgian guy.

Front end is having new bushes throughout and doing a leightweight Wilwood disc conversion, new lighter front runners and some other weight loss measures to the body.

New 408 stroker is being built for me by a level crossing gate keeper in Yorkshire.

Car was 1120 kg but reckon I can get it to 1080 kg ( 2370 lbs ) and 500 hp motor.

Will post piccies when the piccie function works

Lightweight Wilwood disc conversion going on. Had to machine down my original spindles and make a new nut to accept the Wilwood hubs and bearings. Will have to cut and machine the caliper bracket to accept the calipers. These new hubs will also accept the larger pcd leightweight front runners I have.

It is amazing how heavy the old discs and calipers were, each caliper alone gives a 4.2 kg weight saving over the original.

Boot area gets a bit of light weight treatment too ( steel floor removed and replaced with sheet alluminium ) and I am moving the fuel cell and battery rearwards a tad to negate the weightloss at the rear.

Looking very good Jon. How come the Willwoods did not bolt up to the early "A" body spindles?
