That's the problem with a lot of repro parts. Wherever possible it's always best to restore original parts rather than replace with repro.

Having said that, i replaced the door handles on my '69 Road Runner some years ago, the new ones were perfect. All i had to do was swap over the buttons because early 69's used black buttons. (- That was ten years ago, - perhaps the door handles i bought were NOS?)

I have found many repro items to be poor quality. I bought a new PLYMOUTH emblem for the bonnet of my 'Runner. It was crap. It was so bendy i wouldn't use it. So i refitted the original item. I have now learned my lesson. Wherever possible my Cuda and Challenger still has the original parts.

I have always found Legendary interiors to be gorgeous (although i didn't like the Cuda door panels i got from them so i didn't use them), and also the convertible top parts i bought for my Challenger are really nice.

Some items are better than original. I bought new rear lamp bezels for the Challenger. The originals are made of Mazak 'monkey metal' and are not very good. My new ones are CNC machined from solid brass and chromed. They are so nice i wanted to put them on my lounge wall.

I wanted them on my wall as well Jim! best repro part I have seen to date.

We are lucky in some respects though, the stuff Scott Drake does for Mustangs is appalling, nothing fits and it is cheap trash, half the weight of the original.
