ignition barrel

Post by Anonymous »

the day of my mot and its a no start.shorted the relay and the starter kicks, shorted the relay to small term and once again the starter goes...so am i right in saying the problem will be the wireing too the barrel or the barrel itself.

when we were finishing the dash there was an additional starter button, whilst still needing to turn the key to make the ignition live...should have left the bleeding thing!

electrics are not one of my fav"s,

four wires, one blk[to the box i think] two yellow and a red.....help

relay kicks when shorted direct, so barrel to the relay has to be at fault, your right about the park/neutral thing...

I'd try earthing the terminal on the relay that earths via the inhibitor switch first to see if it's that side playing up (Bet it is!) Then check if you have a live coming from the ign switch when you turn it, if you do and still no go it's the relay at fault.
