I've got Don on it anyway so if there's anything available over there he'll dig it up, don't worry if the guy gets sorted out in the meantime as this is how parts and deals get found.

Quite funny really as I didn't tell Don what it was for just to look for the 3.90's in soft.

So I got an email back asking a billion questions as to why anyone would put those gears in soft in their Mopar car, I just copied the pic on this thread to him, that's a good an explanation.

He has said that maybe the soft gears are only available in 4.10's or 4.86's but he hasn't finished digging yet

And according to Randy's site it's weaker than an iron case and it's only good to 450hp....

Here's the email from Don copied straight onto here

"He has no choice, the Street Gear is the only gear set that's available, the Strange gear set is the best you can buy and if anything will hold up to it the Strange would be it.

This is old school Nostalgia and even in their day the only Pro Gear ever made was a 4.86

Tell him to order 2-3 sets and build another pumpkin so he has a spare on hand, it just can't be done any other way unless he wants to order 100 sets and possibly Strange would do a run for him.

Don"

so the soft are available in 4.86 as you had already found out Kev, never mind nothing ventured and all that, I can get the Strange street 3.91 for around ?177

Yeah I think I also heard of another aftermarket case (as well as the MP one)...might have been Moser...or might be thinking of their Dana..... :D

If he's breaking 8.75's might be time for a Dana......(or since he hasn't the taste to run a mopar engine, a F*rd 9" rear, no stronger but cheaper)

I don't think an 8 3/4 is really cut out for this. I would suggest a 9in really since most other drag guys use them and the bits are more available.

Yeah, but if you have a load of money in a severely narrowed, fully floating, Strange equipped, spooled up diff located in your 'Fuel slingshot; A set of gears is a much cheaper option, don't you think? :D Just cos it's a Nitro Injected Top Fuel SlingShot (The only one in the country) doesn't mean they have pounds falling out of their behinds

If they decide to stay with the 8 3/4 i'm happy to keep a set of whatever gears/ bearings etc they want on the shelf
