Top Gear Australia

Post by Anonymous »

Hi guys,

I have been contacted by a producer for the Australian Top Gear. They are coming over to film in the UK in mid July and wanted onfo on some Aus cars that may be here.

I have passed on the info request to MattH, but not heard back from him.

No idea what they may want the cars for. The only mention was:-

"I am just curious to see whether anyone might be interested in allowing us to use their vehicles in the program"

Anyway, I have passed Matt's email address on to her as he neatly straddles both Chrysler and Holden.

(Roger, they are looking for a Maloo, if possible?)

All the best

i might be interested

provided they don't treat it like the UK boys treated Rogers Ute

or indeed any passing caravans or morris marinas.

i.e if its a turn up and they film the cars job ok

if its a turn up hand over the keys and watch them thatsh the nuts off it

no

mind if they bust it they are going to have access to the guys in Oz who have all the parts to fix it ....Mmmmm could be an oportunity

If they want to do donuts they can fit a new diff and gearbox before they start......

will take a look at Aussie Top gear on Utube see if they are as daft as the UK bunch

Bugger the wagon won't be done by then, do you think they could pack me a door in with their camera gear if I asked really really nicely?

I was contacted about rounding up Fords and now I have to do Mupps and Oldhens as well .... :P

:D

In the absence of MattH, here you go:-

Mention my name just so the poor girl knows where all these emails seeking fame and fortune originated from. I suspect that, mostly, the cars will be used for background and blah-blah about good old Aus cars in Pom-land.

"My name is Kate Witchard and I am working on Top Gear Australia. Our team is coming to the UK for a British Special where they will experience the best of British driving.

We are interested in knowing whether our team might be able to get a hold of some Australian vehicles to drive whilst they are in the UK. I understand your members in the UK own Ford vehicles and I am interested to know whether they might be interested in allowing us to include their cars in the program?

We will be in the UK from the 10th – 22nd of July, at this early stage I am just curious to see whether anyone might be interested in allowing us to use their vehicles in the program, of course I am happy to discuss this with you over the phone in further detail – so please advise me of the time that suits you best to talk and the number that is best to call.

Many thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

Kate

Andy

email kate

i took the liberty of sending her as many links to clubs and clips that i could find that had an Aussie car link
i.e demo of what was here + contact details

you blasting round one of the tracks was on the list.

was also trying to track down the two toranas that operate in one of the historic classes.....not sure if they are pretending to be Vivas mind

found one but the website that mentions it causes my Virus software to go mad so i didn't persist.

Looks like I'll be seeing you there then Dave.
Was promised that it's just a quick bit of filming too.... no blasting around the track like they stole it.
