Tony,

I'm also a new member and I don't (yet) know Dave so could you post some pics of the car in the appropriate forum and tell us what its spec is and your plans are for it?

Best of luck pal! I've already been on the receiving end of much banter and advice in less than a week!

Cheers!

Dave

Mickey Thompson list 2 sportsman fronts in that size, One is 4 ply the other is 8 ply.

the 8 ply is for 3000lb+ cars and is what should be fitted

you have the 8 ply right????

part numbers are

1572 26X7.50-15 4 ply

1573* 26X7.50-15 8 PLY

Also check that you haven't got radials and non radials, the rears look like radials to me but check the fronts as it doesn't say on the MT website, they probably are radials but it's worth a check.

I can get MT tyres and at a really good price too

Tony

you really need to at least fit the 8 ply fronts, i'll find out for you what the handling expectations are likely to be with the 8 plies from MT. Also a price and you can take it from there.

I'd have thought with the 8 plies handling would be ok as MT sell them as a street/strip tyre

I wouldn't worry about the rest of the car just because someone didn't check tyre spec mate, it's americans after all :)

Welcome Tony, that is the other 6 pack Chally I was interested in!
For street I would use 225 60 15 front and 255 60 15 rear, Cooper Cobras good and not expensive, Nankangs cheap and ok. worked well on both previous Mopes 8)
