I wont ask for a translation Dave! It is a tough one as the 4.10s fitted are on a sure grip set up, where as the spare set are open 3.23s.
Currently 4000RPM is, according to Pete, 70mph (speedo wavering around 80-90 though) and is running on 295 50 15s. I am thinking of putting 255 60 15s on.
Must admit it surprised me how happy it felt with these gears in.
Are you sure 6,500 is safe? This is one motor I dont want to blow up!
6500 is way safe for that motor I take mine there faily often and its the stock bottom end Instead of 255/60r15 try 275/60r15 I use them with no clearance problems at all also if you do change the rear gears and dont want to go fully gay try using 3.73-1 gears best of both worlds I will be changing to these when the new motor goes in eventually sometime in the future
"and dont want to go fully gay" Sometimes I just have to larf out loud at some of these camments, thanks for cheering me up!
That motor will be safe as houses at those rpm's, all balanced and ARP stuff in there, the 4.10's are prefect for where you live as well, cruising on the motorway at 70 ain't bad and it's legal
Yeah, defo keep em in, funny you say that Alex, when I was throwing it round the twistys down here yesterday, I thought, here is a Mopar made for Cornwall!
Cant wait to see your car at the Nats aswel Guy.
Got a story about slappin the shifter!
My mate said to me "that looks like a camaro!"........when he stood up i pointed out that Mopar cars have sweeping lines and also pointed out the change in lines along the side.Unlike a camaro which looked like a Bran Flakes Box!
Thats a really nice car you have there now James. The Charger was a beauty, but that one is a beauty and its special.
Sort of fancied that and made a light enquiry on price some time ago. Trouble is, I couldnt quite stretch to the price as I wanted to keep and restore my RT too and didnt want to hamper that. Wish I had now cos I probably wont get the chance to have either a T/A or an AAR now. Not exactly sitting on every car lot.
Look after her mate and dont go too crazy behind the wheel.
