It was a great car. 4 inch white walls. really looked the part. A mate of mine who lived round the corner had a peppermint green 55 coupe de Ville and a wrecker white series 62 conv. Both were hacked to make one good covertible. Another of the gang had a beige 56 eldo seville which he swapped for what was then probably the best 59 coupe de ville in the country. No. plate 00 59 00. Black car with black / white interior. ANOTHER mate down the road had a pink 56 series 75 limmo. We were all on the rocking scene but as with most things I get into I got very anal about the cars. Another guy I knew had a red 54 CDV with black roof. There were a lot of good tidy fifties yanks in Harrow then, and of course the yellow 69 Charger which ignited that passion for me. So I suppose yes, I know my Caddies. Have always loved them. Standard of the World (or so they told us) ;)
Ah, i see, that explains it! I like most American cars but Cadillacs are my passion! I've owned most model years over the last couple of decades, current one is the 57 'vert which we just did the Sweden trip in. I also just bought a 54 Coupe which i'm picking up next week.
However i am looking for a real nice stock restored Cuda, i part owned one of the Kingston cars back in the early ninties and have always regretted selling it.

Mate of mine had a 58 98 with the J2 option. Loved that car. I think my faorite has to be a 58 buick. Or maybe a 58 Cad. Love those. quad headlights do it for me.

As you are in Bucks, di you ever know lance McCormack who owned Romance of Rust? I remember being allowed to put a hacksaw through the A Pillar of a 59 CDV he was turning into a convertible. The donor car was a 59 Buick Electra.

I do know Lance, through Garry whos 59 Coupe got converted. That car was sold to Australia a couple of years ago after a long stint as a wedding car.

CLANG!! or however you spell the sound of a big penny dropping

I've just put 2 & 2 together and hope I can now put a face to your username, Motorama :)

I didnt know you were a member on here? Yes it was '04 we were on the CA stand. I seem to remember you saying you were from the Northampton area when we spoke at the NEC, but I may have remembered that wrong :?

Clivey/Andy - I've got some photos that I've been meaning to get scanned & on here for a while now, from a Pre 50s AAC show at Syon Park in Isleworth, from '89 I think. Lots of Caddy's & the like, and a couple of young looking Holman Bros (from the 'You Bet' era  )
I'll see if I can get them on here over the weekend 8-)

Thanks Dave, praise indeed :) It didnt get busy till after 7.30ish, soon after I arrived. Stu got there much earlier so managed to get some pics when it was a bit lighter.
I didnt think to increase the ISO setting, so a lot of the pics came out quite grainy once it got darker
