New show - Stevenage 'Autorama 2010' -pics added!

Post by RobTwin »

Stu sent me this flyer for a new meet for a local club (well, local to him!) the 'A602 Street & Strip Rods' that's being put on this Sunday 12th.

As the ad says,'Hot Rods, Classics, Yanks, Customs, Bikes, VDubs' so I think that means we're invited!

Venue details:
Fairlands Valley Show Ground is just a couple of miles east of Knebworth House/Park (A1/M, junc 7), along the A602, over 2 roundabouts, enter thru 1st gate entrance on the left, before a school / playing fields and opposite Stevenage footie ground.

Weather forecast is good so we'll check it out.... anyone else not going t'Pod fancy it?

Pretty good turn out for a 1st time show, and considering there was similar event a few miles down the road in Bishops Stortford (good organisation, eh!  )

Good to see Paul Riley there with his Coronet, fresh out of Hausers after ironing out a few niggles (hope I didnt understate that too much Paul  )

Jim Darrington was also there with his viper-blue 68 Charger.... scooping up the 'Best Yank' award.... another trophy to add to the one he picked up at he Nats. Forgot to get a pic Jim, sorry, but it's the one that was at Knebworth a couple of weeks earlier, if anyone doesnt know the car.

The mad blown rat(ish)-rod in the pics ('Lowdown'n'Dirty') turned up just before they announced the prize winners and got Best Rod. Looked radical but sounded a lot milder than it looked. Could do with a bit more cam, methinks :?
Looked like a s/b Ford to my untrained eye, so maybe they'll fit a proper engine under the blower by the time it's all finished :pentacool:

This pick up won Best of Show

59 Ford Skyliner Retractable is gorgeous. 58 Olds is a sweet thing too although not sure of colours or colour scheme. 55 Chevy with radiused rear arches in maroon is coo, too. Like that little black rod n all but only cos the motor is almost totally black - which is different. Scrap the rest.
