Anyone want a HQ Monaro....

Advert is not accurate.
Is 5.7l not 7.5
Is LS not SS.

If it is original 350 LS it would be worth big money.... far rarer than a GTS but I doubt it is.

Can't help myself, I'll have to email him to ask for the numbers and check what it was built with.

I quite like it. Back half like a '70 Camaro. Front half like a Vauxhall VX4/90. :)

Funny looking thing, sort of humpbacked, like two different people designed each end. typical ugly oz car, very few that are pleasing to the eye.

Ahhh. The more you lot hate 'em the more I like 'em.

Not much was as fast as a Hemi 6 Charger back in the day as we are all well aware Dave.
:notworthy:

But as my HQ was also my first car as a 17 year old, I know where my heart is.

I spoke with him on Monday.
Good bloke, said it was tired 253 to 350 crate motor conversion that he did.
Not sure if it is really a saginaw, after speaking with him I expect it will be an Aussie 4 speed (GMH spec M20 or M21) not saginaw GM spec M20 or M21). Said he got a bell housing and cable clutch from oz, could not remember having to change yoke/tail shaft.
So I think it was the Holden gearbox matched to the Chev SB.

Not the end of the world if this is the case, just not the strongest of box as standard (and used), so no silly business or beefing up the crate motor without risking a broken box!
The only difference between the Aussie 4 speeds used behind the holden 6's and V8 (253 & 308) was bell housing and input shaft, all other components like gears, synchros, layshaft etc. are all the same.

I would love to go and have a look at it, but scared I would want it too!
