cam dilema

Post by TrevD »

well i got back from the thorny show and decided that the old 273 will be staying for the rest of the year so i must sort a couple of problems before the nats, ie noisy lifters , lack of power . i tried all the usual stuff to tune it and an oil change etc but no joy , ive now stripped it all out , cam, lifters etc . the question is should i put the original cam back or use another , i have cams from 318ci and 360ci , does anyone know what if any performance gains i will get from either of these , i cant find specs in any of my books.i know i should buy new but thats not an option.
cheers

allkiller , yes thay are all stock cams , problem now sort of sorted . the cam looked ok so is still in use , i rebuilt 27 lifters to get 16 goodish ones and i found a usable timing chain on the garage floor ( i kid you not0 si it will be at the nats without its rattles and with some power so i might just run it and see what i can break
