Shifter moves when steering wheel turned
Got a strange ( and worrying ) thing with the Demon. Its got a column change auto and when you put the shifter in gears and turn the steering wheel the whole shifter and shroud move around putting the selector into a different segment.
Haven't actually took it down the road yet due to the snow so I don't know if it will actually jump out of gear or not.
Just wondered if this was common and whether its just an adjustment issue.

cool looking motor. it does sound like something in the column is loose, had this once on an old column change vauxhall, didnt change gear just the pointer was wrong if i turned left. drove it for over a year before finding that it was 2 small screws loose (took 20 mins to fix
)

1971 Dodge Demon finished in excellent Plum Crazy purple. The car was originally a Slant 6 powered car but has now been converted to 340 V8 power and has been finished as a 340 tribute car. The car has been painted in Plum Crazy with all the correct 340 stripes and decals. The interior is black vinyl with bench seats front and rear, both being in excellent condition. Only problem with the interior is a small tear in the headlining.

column outer is held on by 2 bolts under dash
if not there
and
the bolts into the collar at the bulkhead are loose
the column turns round
you'd loosen the bolts at the collar on the bulkhead, and remove the two on the cross bar bolted to the bottom of the dash if you wanted to turn the column round to take off the steering lock
