Some of his own cars are over here, spoke to a VN Commodore SV5000 owner last week who owns Tom's old car, might be worth a tad more now?
He did do some good things for Aussie motorsport, Jag XJS 1-2 springs to mind at Bathurst in 1980 ish.

Tsk, 1985. While the two Jags crossed the line side by side, they were actually 1 and 3, split by a 635CSi.MattH wrote:Some of his own cars are over here, spoke to a VN Commodore SV5000 owner last week who owns Tom's old car, might be worth a tad more now?

Apart from the 'Englishman' crack

Bringing 'Claaasss' to the mountain.
Never looked at an XJS the same again. Great looking race cars.
His SV5000 Commodore was advertised in Classic American back in the mid 90's and I was tempted to buy it. Isn't it an unusual colour?
He did a good job with HSV in the early days taking over from Brock, and the VL 'Walkinshaw', for all its plastic addenda is a great car. Grice and Percy did a fine job winning in 1990, although, it took the banning of the Sierras and GT-R's to really bring it back into contention.
Looks like his race transporter is for sale here:

The SV5000 owner is coming to get some bits from me this weekend, and said he would bring the car to the Ace Cafe on Sunday 23rd Jan for the Australia Day. I will take my Holden so a VN and VP can stand side by side, Charger off the road so no go with that.

What is the go with your charger? Shame it wont be at the Ace Cafe, I was hoping to have a look at it.
I plan to take the VG.... complete with freshly rusted bumpers (a couple of weeks of salted roads has taken its toll!)
Took the HQ to the Bathurst Bash so it's the Vals turn.
I SORN it every year because its a 73 and costs to tax it, it also needs some metal in the rear floors to stop the water leaking straight onto the floor from the rear screen seal. Holden only needs a rad, gearbox and axle !
