What a shame!

Go on Dave, you know you want to.
- Heater to replace your AC unit.
- That front bumper looks like it's worth a closer inspection, may well be straight.
- Looks like there will be a power steering box it her too - can see the pump.
The list goes on...

Are Baz or Kev close to this to check it out?

Ive been down to the scrappy today (only 20 mins from me!) and the guy wanted £700 for the car (minus the shell as it has to be crushed) he thinks the Engine and box are worth £500  but the engine looks more like a boat anchor to me than a usable engine!
I have got a few bits from it but I'm afraid the wings are full of body filler
The rad has been damaged the doors are a bit crusty at the bottoms and have had a bit of filler, the interior is not too good and the dash pad has been cut to fit an old ford clock in to it :banghead:
I still have to get the front bumper off (didn't have any more room in the jeep with the wheels in there) and a few other shiny and dirty bits.
Once he has the engine and box out i am going back for the complete front sub frame, steering and suspension!
Are these back axles any good and what are they worth? again he gave me a price and i nearly choked (someone he knows told him that it was worth loads of cash, i think the same person who told him the engine and box are worth £500!!!!)

OK back axle is a 7 3/4 borg warner

open diff has reputaion for failure
LSD version is a cone centre LSD
these are ok will handle 300bhp and 300 ft/lb

ive never paid more than £60 for one and i now have 3

I'll PM ya

PS if you have left him to take out the box and engine he will cut the front grill and surrounds out.....and thats the bit i'd take......arrrgh

engine will be a 318
no diifferent to any other apart from oil filter set up

he has not found the one and only steel crank 340 equipped charger
it would have E55 on its vin plate and i'll eat my shoes if this is it as it was dismnatled 250 miles further south ages ago by a man we both know

box is a 904 all v8 chargers that came to the UK had 904s as none of them were police cars

drivtrain is no better than yer average day van/truck

neither are thin on the ground in the UK....if you needed either somone in the club would know where one of either was.
your price appriasal on RR is probably on the button.

Diff is an oddity not well liked over here
its the only 7 3/4 mopar diff
made by borgwarner and still made by spicer axle in Aus
similar kit used in a huge range of aussie cars
but they swapped to 28 spline axles in 1982
you ca still get some 25 spline stuff

if its an LSD the cone centre can be rebuilt i can supply details

they are not worth anything really as most will put an 8 3/4 into anything that has decent torque and power..

i have noit paid much for the 2 i have in my shed 60 or 70 quid i think to keep them from the scrappy
