Today was the day I started by picking Derek up and brought his diesel blow heater to heat the garage up so we could paint the engine bay.
We started by finishing the small bit of stripping I didn't finish in the week and then Derek used the air line to blow all dust and dirt out while I swept the floor and the surrounding areas.
We the scotch padded the whole engine bay and the blew it down again. We then degreased the engine bay and masked it all up. We aimed the heated at the engine bay to warm the metal and once it was warm enough we both applied the first coat of primer and then the second. Once the primed was done it was onto the top coat and I let Derek do all the top coat as he has alot of practice spraying cars and I didn't want to mess it up. Once all the top coat was done we both stood back and I have to say I am amazed at the quality of the finish Derek achieved with spray cans(purpose mixed colour from scanning a body panel from my car). I would like to thank to Derek for all his help today as it was a job I was dreading.

Wish I had Anton's energy back when I started my family.
Things would deffo be different now I bet?
Still have me 69 R/T , a wife and three kids no doubt???
Keep up the good work guys!!!
Great to see this level of enthusiam directed at a Charger and not a WII LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yep very good the pair of you a light cutting compound and polish and it will be mint, another option would have been to spray can lacquer it all what ever though shows what you can do with effort,
Looking good Anton I expect the engine in by this evening the speed your progressing. Wish i had half the energy you have but then again your only half my age
I have been busy this week putting all the bits of powder coating back together so I can start putting back int the car.
I have also put a few more bits on the engine and the plug wire separators have worked out a treat and keep it all very tidy.
I broke a stud on the servo so I had to weld a new one in with out damaging the powder coat and it turned out great.

I made a bit more progress this week and it is all coming together now and it is looking great.
Tomorrow i will put the gearbox in and connect all the linkages and the install the rad and make up the new transmission cooler lines.
I have also t-cut all the paint in the engine bay and it has come up a treat and I am very pleased.
I have replaced the fender bolt with stainless steel bolts and nice large washers and it add to the look of the engine bay.
I have put the bumper on to realign all the bracket and I will take it off to install the grill and valence.
