Classic Corvette Club Invitation
The Classic Corvette Club has invited MMA members to join them at their two day event this year.
The club will be holding a two day event again this year, on the 2nd and 3rd of July at Huntingdon racecourse, Cambridgeshire.
As ever they expect the main day to be Sunday, but the club does get a fair amount of people on the Saturday.
Camping is available on site, and there will be the usual amenities, showers
toilets etc. All Mopar cars will have their own parking area close to the main arena, so it should be nice and safe.
Entrance fee will be £15 per car including camping, so it's not too expensive either.
If anyone is interested, please reply below and I'll furnish the organisers with numbers and they can reserve some large spaces!

I came very very close to buying this last weekend.
I must be mad buying another Challenger when I could have something 1000lbs lighter, faster, better handling, better mpg, and in the long run cheaper to maintain.
It's still a toss up in my mind.

Ok Dave, If you buy the Challenger it is a safe move as you could sort it out blindfolded, you have done that got the tee shirt, suit and tie, if you buy another one it will be like ground hog day.
It matters not what you buy but get one that is in good nick and does not need you to have a load of heartache but something you can refine at your special touches then get it out and enjoy it.
Why not a Chevy, at least the prices of parts wont make you a poor man like the Mopar parts can.

An auto is fine in a 'Vette.
A very flexible motor and limited cockpit space means an auto is a good option.
Handling is very good, sharp and responsive. Brakes are OK.
A 'Vette will start performing just as your average Mopar is about done, watch your license !!!
I have scared an AM owner to death with it, but maybe that was just because he had a big bank account and no driving talent........The C4 will do 100mph on less than 3000 rpm....
The downside on a 'Vette is that it is complex.
Even an '87 is very techie, such as the dashboard, but importantly the engine has about 16 sensors on it to achieve excellent performance with acceptable fuel economy. TPI's are better than the earlier ones.
There is next to no room to work on it, and an OBDII is essential, except that an '87 will only work on an OBDI and I can't find one
Julie's has a small fault on it whereby the idle blips to 1400 rpm - the trouble is that this is about 52mph in top; which makes driving in traffic a bit of a chore.....I can't track this down at present..............
The build quality and the materials used are appalling (I am sure Jim will not agree, but this is my opinion). This is such a shame given the new cost and overall package. There is zero luggage space....best tell Diana this, but then again a Challenger is not that great either.......
If you get one you will find it great fun, but I would also budget for professional servicing and repair costs.

That one we looked at is a hardtop (no removable panels) and actually has a boot (trunk). It's not big but big enough for a large case and a hold-all or two.
It is also the 6-speed manual which I have to say I was impressed with. The shifter is short throw and very positive.
The LS1 engine is supposed to be a very good bit of kit. This one only has 26K on it.
The only things I didn't like about it was the very plastic interior (although the instrument gauges were good and the seats are leather) and the engine didn't have the V8 growl I like until you got the revs up. Probably the design of the exhaust.
The other slight problem was the owner wasn't sure he wanted to sell it and with me not been sure I wanted to buy it we made a right pair of nuggets.
