Tyre pressure
Has anyone run Mickey T ET street radials on the street, I've been on there web site and they recommend about 16psi for the track but nothing for the road, these are 315/60/15 also what pressure for mickey T sportsman fronts 28/7.5/15 on a 4.5" rim, car weighs approx 3500lbs but I want it down to about 3000lbs

Petrol is for washing parts, Alcohol is for drinking, Nitro is for racing!!!

I run 24psi on the back, gives the most even tyre wear. Used this pressure with ET Street Radials, BFG Drag Radials, Nitto 555's and any other tyre I've used. Expect about 2000 miles of street driving on the ET Streets and the tread is gone.
edit: That includes about 40 short burnouts. No need for a long burn out with the ET's, get off it when you see the revs start to drop.

Drive straight home if it starts to rain.GTXJim wrote:Cheers fellas I thought about 24psi, I really wont be doing many miles, but needed more grip on the street as it kept lighting the tyres up, and will be using slicks at the track

really good grip, last ok & instant loads of smoke burn out, should you feel the need to show off

When I first got car it was on nice period looking redlines/500's but even @ motorway speeds roll on in top it would light the tyres up, pulling off drive embarrasing, difficult not to be a holigan, but these Mt's made a huge difference

Wheels and tyres turned up this morning, tyres fitted and balanced and on the car, and they look the nuts, just need to get the front wheel nuts sorted probably wait for the swap meet.
About 1/2lb of lead was needed on one of the back wheels to get it in balance

Yes Dave, But was still surprised 215g this was the stick on stuff and I wanted it on the inside only if it was the knock on stuff it was going to be 135g on the outside of the rim and 75g on the inside these are on 10 x 15 plain steels.

I would try moving the tyre on the rim to get the balance correct Jim, as it sounds like you have matched the heavy spot on the rim and tyre together, as that sounds like a hell of a lot of weight for a new tyre.GTXJim wrote:Yes Dave, But was still surprised 215g this was the stick on stuff and I wanted it on the inside only if it was the knock on stuff it was going to be 135g on the outside of the rim and 75g on the inside these are on 10 x 15 plain steels.
Are you using tubes? as this will also have an effect.
