hello

been away

hood release

round knob sits behind the air vent squre knob bolted to the underside of the dash or indeed the inner wing...

it will be held on with self tapping screws

manual brakes are fine they are infact too good...
i can lock the back up no probs. they never put a booster on the race versions due to flatting the tyres all the time

i use VJ front calipers mind easier to get bits for
your VH front calipers are an aussie made copy of the Brit/american girlock caliper used
on aussie chryslers to 72
on aussie falcons to XA i.e all the XW XY big square Mk 2 cortina a-likes
and on 66 mustangs in the US
the difference between the cars for offset and disk size is set by the bracket with GIRLOCK cast into the back.
any caliper head will fit any bracket making swaps between cars easy if you have the brcket
trouble is the cotton real type things for the slider pins are hard to come by or were

VJs used an iron PBR caliper, later Valiants used an alloy version that is prone to warping
last few years 78-82 had bigger disks and different offset so avoid

i can take you through a method to update to 4 pot landcruiser calipers if you want... you can then detach a retina at the lights
you'd need access to an angle grinder and a big lathe but the calipers can be picked up for £40...NISSIN brand i think...use same pads as some willwood and all toyota hilux 4runner surf and cruiser had them from 92 -96....fit with 14 inch wheels, wirth minimal messing

but to go manual brakes of any type you would just need appropriate master cylinder and rod and swap the rod on the peddle to the manual brakes hole

i have booster off wrecked vj with later alloy PBR master cylinder and some of the mounting brackets PM me if you are interested. god knows if it works....

the Horn bolts to the radiator support on the drivers side behind the headlight above the inner wing side tray that comes out of the join with the chassis leg. I have 2 horns due to RT status but just bolted on with 7/16 bolts. there will be holes

Ha ha, I wondered who'd notice that!
The Pump shot was playing up and I had a hesitant spot when I floored it and mostely it would stall. So I needed to pop the Bowl housing off of the Carb to replace the wee Brass Bar that Holds the Ball Bearing in place. Its popped off a couple of times now. The Soft Hammer was to ease the Bowl Housing Off! :thumbright:

I swaged the Brass Bar out a bit so now its good and tight and the response is crisp again. I took the Charger for a blast up and down the lane outside my house, much to the annoyance of the neighbours! :thumbright:

Ill be taking it out for a few days play tomorrow on Temp plates. £25 a day gets you a set of Sticker Plates for the day including Insurance! Great way to do it. So I can use the High Ways to get the car to the Inspection Station etc. People also use it to drive the car around in the Summer months so they dont have to pay the Import tax.

Couple more peices of info please chaps:

The wiper motor has 6/7 wires attaching to several terminals. Can someone give me a run down of which terminal fits which coloured wire. Saves me pulling the dash out again and following wire paths as a circuit diagram I have isn't helping !

Under the car last night to find the drivers side (outer) bumper support bracket missing. Anyone have one before I resort to sourcing ordering or fabricating something.

Hi.

Do you have the Chrysler factory workshop manual (or a Max Ellory's reprint) or a Gregory's/Scientific Publications?
The Gregory's and SP have no where near the content of the Chrysler & Max Ellory.

The wiring diagrams in the Factory books is usually spot on and with clear colour code.
I find some diagrams in my VG Max Ellory a bit difficult to follow, it is a 50% reduction where they have put 2 A4 pages of the original factory copy onto 1 A4 page.
So my Max Ellory gets used in the shed with oily hands and the original 40+ year old one stays in the house.

Maybe some one with the original Chrysler VH manual can get a copy of the wiring diagram for you.

I did not know but it looks like the VH workshop manual is in 2 sections.

Hi David, should have bumper irons is it just the O/s outer angled one you need. will have a look tomorrow if I get a chance.
I started out with nothing and I still got most of it left

Cheers Dave the photos did the job, allowed me to put the wiper motor assembly together, fit, then connect the right spades and voila one working wiper motor !

Have Max Ellory part 1 and 2 books but the diagram isn't clear ref the terminals, hence rather than risk blow the motor thought I'd pick someones brains.

Just need to source some wiper blades, any idea what fits ?

Also the front outer driver bumper support bracket any one have one ?
